The Small Business Development Center at JSU will be presenting an online webinar on October 16, 2024, highlighting the basic steps to starting a business in Alabama. This webinar will be in participation with the JSU SBDC’s chamber partners in Northeast Alabama: Blount-Oneonta, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Fort Payne, Gadsden-Etowah, Pell City, Sylacauga, and Talladega Chambers of Commerce.
Attendees will learn the basics of writing a business plan, the pros and cons of different legal structures, how to obtain different business licenses, how to obtain a federal and state tax ID number, the importance of opening a business bank account, the basics of obtaining business funding, common small business tax mistakes, and other business start-up steps. There will also be discussions on common mistakes that new businesses make and a question-and-answer portion during the webinar.
